A couple of weeks ago we launched Sunny Hill For Good with a simple belief…
That our community doesn’t have to stand by and watch the former Bruton School for Girls disappear forever.
Instead, we believe we can create something that serves generations to come.
Imagine a Sunny Hill Rural Innovation Campus…
A place where children with additional needs receive the support they deserve.
Young people learn practical skills, apprenticeships and further education.
The theatre comes back to life.
Sports facilities are open to everyone.
Artists, makers and musicians create together.
Health, wellbeing and community organisations work side by side.
Older residents find friendship, activities and support.
A place that belongs to the whole community. It sounds ambitious, because it is.
But every community project that has ever succeeded started with exactly the same thing…
A small group of people who believed it was possible.
We have already raised over £2,200 thanks to some incredibly generous supporters.
Now we need your help to reach our first milestone of £5,000.
That money won’t buy buildings. It won’t pay salaries. It will allow us to begin the professional work needed to make this vision credible:
• creating the charitable organisation that can lead the bid
• engaging specialist legal advice
• developing the plans
• building awareness
• attracting partners and larger funders
Every major project starts with these first foundations.
If everyone who believes this matters gave £10, £20 or £50, we’d reach that goal remarkably quickly. Over 250 people responded to the survey earlier this year, so if everybody who replied to that gave £10, that would get us to the first milestone.
