It Started With a Conversation. It Became a Mission.

Sunny Hill For Good didn’t begin as an organisation. It began with two people asking a simple question:

What if there was another way?

When the former Bruton School for Girls closed, we couldn’t accept that one of Somerset’s most significant educational estates would simply disappear into history. We believed there was an opportunity to create something that honoured its remarkable past while responding to the needs of future generations.

So we decided to see whether it was possible.

What started as a conversation soon became months of research, meetings and listening. We spoke with schools, charities, businesses, healthcare providers, community organisations and local residents. We explored ideas, tested assumptions and asked one question repeatedly: what does rural Somerset really need?

Gradually, a vision began to emerge.

Not another housing estate. Not simply saving an old school. But creating a Rural Innovation Campus where education, skills, health, enterprise, culture, sport and community could come together on one financially sustainable campus.

That vision became Sunny Hill For Good.
